December 5th Meeting at Haycon

Hello All,

Just wanted to let everybody know that at the last neighborhood association meeting we decided to have a Meet Your Neighbors meeting in December in lieu of a normal meeting at the Harriet Tubman House. After a little bit of discussion, we decided to host this meeting at the new Haycon / Boston Real Estate Collaborative Office space located at 784 Tremont Street. This office space is located at the corner of Tremont St and Northampton. Please bring a desert of your choice and invite your neighbors to stop by.

The event will be on Wednesday, December 5th and start at 7pm and will run until 8:30-9. People can come and go throughout those hours. We think this can be a fun event that will also serve the purpose of getting people in the neighborhood involved with the Chester Square Area Neighorhood Association.

Hope to see lots of you turn out next Wednesday (December 5). We are looking forward to the event and are excited to help host it. Please help us get the word out …

Fall Clean up! November 17th, 2012

It’s that time of the year again when all South Enders come together to beautify and clean up their neighborhoods and parks! This is a great opportunity for all as the City will provide all the necessary cleaning equipment and will be picking up all of the collected trash in the South End. It’s also a great time for local businesses to offer up some free goodies (coffee, hot chocolate, juice, cookies, donuts etc.) to their local neighbors/customers who will be volunteering their precious time and energy to beautify the South End.

In case you didn’t catch that date on the subject line the South End Fall Cleanup Date is Saturday November 17th, 2012. Again, this is a wonderful way for everyone to come out and meet their neighbors, non-profits and local merchants. I’m really excited about our clean up and I certainly hope you are too!

Election Day Meetup with Neighbors

Dear Neighbors and members of the Chester Square Neighborhood Association

I am interested fostering more communication and community between all the folks that live and work in the area. Next week’s election seems like an opportunity to at least see

each other. I had the idea (not original with me, someone did it last year at another polling station) of handing out some cookies or snack, while people are waiting in line to vote. Nothing gets people talking like munching on something.

At the same time we could raise awareness about the neighborhood association and the meeting that will be the next night.

The tray of snacks would have a sign,

“The neighbors and members of Chester Square Neighborhood Association Thank you for voting today.

the person with the snack would also hand out a flier about the Association meeting.

There would be no support for any particular candidate

I would welcome some help if anyone thinks it is a good idea. I could use help with the following:

–4 people to make/buy cookies and individually wrap them

–Any one who wants to help pass them out for 1/2 to an hour.

It would be nice to have two at a time.

the 7-8:30 am is covered

4-5 open need 2people

5-6 covered fro 1,

6-7 covered for 1

—donation if I end up making or buying all the cookies

—Help making/copying a flier to advertise the CSNA meeting

if you have thoughts, please email me or give me a call.
