Wrap-up of Chester Park event
All reports are that many enjoyed making knew acquaintances and trying new things and that this event gave residents a renewed sense of what’s possible for our park and our neighborhood. Thanks to Sara’s vision and the many dedicated volunteers!
Recommendations for our next event: Careful planning for flyer distribution, setting-up activities in the park, sound system, and food.

Fall Clean-up Nov 23, 9-11 am
Tasha, Josh, Anthony, Mark, Susan, and Lloyd volunteered for a variety of tasks, to recruit, publicize, plant daffodil bulbs, put flower beds to sleep, and provide refreshments and tools for the clean-up.

Election of officers
We’ll nominate officers in December for election in January. We’re also looking for technical expertise for our team, to work with our website & emailing. Sargent Provenzano (neighborhood representative from Boston Police Dist 4) recommends we contact Northeastern’s University’s Civic Engagement Program.

South End Forum (reps from neighborhood associations of South End)
Mark reported the Forum has voted for a pilot program that will provide communal collectors to provide flexibility in when and how residents dispose their trash and recycling. The Forum also voted against the practice of allowing those who have cleared snow from street parking spaces to save the space by leaving something in it.

Next CSANA meeting Wednesday, Nov 6.

Sept 21 Fun in the Park

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKids of all ages got better acquainted with each other and our neighborhood with games, crafts and good fun in Chester Park on this beautiful day! Calvary Baptist Church filled Chester Park with music while the Solomons (Sr. & Jr.) grilled dozens of burgers & dogs. We swarmed the food tables filled by South End House of Pizza, Estelles, Parish Café, and our wonderful home bakers. Karma Yoga and Marilse Collazo’s zumba inspired us to move and stretch together. South End Historical Society fascinated us with historical photos. United South End Settlements invited us to check out their many programs for the community. Thanks to Victory House and Sargent House for their help with fliers and cleaning up the Park. And congratulations to our many volunteers who put so much into this great event!
